Gnofin is a personal finance application that runs under GNOME. Gnofin ("Guh-no-fin") is a personal finance application that runs under GNOME. It is designed to be fast, efficient, and easy-to-use. The scope of the project has been kept at a minimum to preserve an interface that is both intuitive and straight-forward to learn. However, Gnofin also provides a plugin system that allows it to be extended in terms of the tools/functions it provides and the file formats it can handle. For example, a plugin has been written that enables Gnofin to read Quicken Interchange Format (QIF) files. This enables existing account records created by Quicken (or other compatible tools) to be imported easily into Gnofin.

Windows 8 estimates: 500 million users in 2013

Microsoft expects to launch a new wave of optimism with Windows 8. In a recent statement, Steve Ballmer, chief executive at Microsoft, estimates that Windows 8 will reach a total of about 500 million users by the end of 2013.
